Exhibit 001

An archive that used to sit on a museum shelf now has an address on the web — open to everyone.

The Tychy City Museum holds the albums of Hanna Adamczewska-Wejchert and Kazimierz Wejchert — the architects who designed New Tychy. Photographs, manuscripts, sketches, press clippings and travel souvenirs: work, the city and everyday life recorded page by page.

Inventory

This much data went through our hands.

  1. No. 01 4 492 objects each with its own catalogue card and address
  2. No. 02 ~9 GB of scans in full resolution, 1920 × 1280 px
  3. No. 03 36 albums by the Wejcherts, from 1940 to 1994
  4. No. 04 380 places of origin — from Tychy to Beijing, Cairo and Sapporo
  5. No. 05 13 040 links between objects and 17 themes — searchable in one click
  6. No. 06 9 record fields per object: author, date, place, inventory number, type, collection, tags, licence, description

Counted on the live site, October 2026.

Room I · Archive

The whole collection on one wall.

We brought Klar Studio's design to the browser 1:1 — a calm, gallery-like grid where the scans take the lead, not the interface.

Room II · Object card

Every album page has its own record.

Author, date, place, inventory number, object type, collection, tags and licence — exactly as in the museum inventory. Below: a description and other objects from the same album.

Room III · Search

4 492 objects. Find the one you need in seconds.

Search plus six filters: tags, date from, date to, author, place and object type. Type “Tychy” and get 20 pages of results spanning half a century.

Collection filters on a phone: tags, dates, author, place, object type

Room IV · In your pocket

A museum open 24/7. On your phone too.

The full collection on a small screen, favourites saved for later and sharing in one tap. Accessibility designed to WCAG 2.1 — a text-resize menu, contrast and a clear structure, because a museum is for everyone.

Scope of work

What we did

  1. 01

    Building Klar Studio's design

Every view — from the list to the object card — faithfully reproduced and polished for desktop, tablet and phone.

  2. 02

    Catalogue card

An object structure that follows the museum inventory: 9 record fields plus a description, consistent across the collection.

  3. 03

    Migrating the entire database

Data prepared together with the museum team — 4 492 records and about 9 GB of scans uploaded without retyping a thing.

  4. 04

    Search and filters

Full-text search and 6 filters, including 380 places and date ranges, to pick one object out of a sea of data.

  5. 05

    Albums and collections

36 albums as separate collections, breadcrumbs and “other objects in this collection” — a visit page by page.

  6. 06

    Saved items and sharing

Favourites kept for later and easy sharing — an archive people want to come back to.

  7. 07

    Accessibility to WCAG 2.1

A public institution's website, so accessibility is a must: designed for the Polish digital accessibility act — a WCAG menu with text resizing, contrast and heading structure in line with the guidelines, image descriptions and full mobile support.

  8. 08

    Search engine visibility

Every object has its own address and goes into the sitemap — over 4 400 addresses Google can find.

Care

The archive is alive. And we're right there with it.

We look after the site on an ongoing basis: uploading new objects and updated descriptions and records prepared by the museum. The collection grows and changes — the website keeps up.
